management – the core management team has three experienced business leaders and deep relationships in the regulatory, scientific, and clinical research communities.
ceo – steve loyd is the company ceo and president. he is responsible for holding and developing strategies to implement the company’s mission, execute those strategies in concert with key strategic marketing partnerships and other relationships, communicate the company vision to current and future stakeholders, and organize company resources to realize profitable sales growth. he is an mba graduate from the university of washington and was an attorney in washington state before organizing ph sciences.
coo – jim zue is the company coo. he is responsible for ingredient production, and supervises product development, clinical studies, and other product validation activities to support the company. he is an mba/engineer graduate from michigan state and has operated several successful technology manufacturing companies in the u.s.
vp business development – david matteson is responsible for establishing business relationships consistent with the company mission and strategy. he creates and implements corporate communications efforts. he has served as a corporate officer for hill and knowlton, an international public affairs firm, and has worked for 15 years as a strategic consultatnt and executive coach to early-stage companies in the integrative medicine and natural products industries. he has served in a variety of leadership capacities in these arenas, and currently is treasurer of the natural product foundation. he holds three masters-level degrees.

steve loyd, chairman. the ceo of ph sciences has led and sold several high growth companies and managed large teams to complete large projects and achieve extraordinary results. he was involved with the redevelopment of eleven city blocks in downtown seattle and operated an investment bank in seattle advising companies in mergers, acquisitions, equity placements, and strategic growth planning.
daniel lanahan, board member. dan is co-founder of lanahan & reilley llp, a 70-attorney law firm headquartered in northern california. he has mentored several hi-tech and bio-tech start-up companies and was the national coordinating counsel in the nationwide litigation involving the food supplement l-tryptophan which resulted in a $3 billion settlement.
john baillie, board member. john is the founder of a contract research laboratory that grew to 180 scientists and technicians that sold to quintiles transnational corporation. he continued as an executive there through quintiles’ initial public offering. he is co-founder and director for two bio-tech companies.
